Three short films from The Canary Islands will travel next week to the city of Zagreb, Croatia, after being selected at Playbox Short Film Festival. The titles are Verbena by Adrián González, La Aldea by Joel Rodríguez y Melody's murmur by Fabio Barber. The three of them will compete in the international short film section. The screening sessions will take place on September, 19th - 21st.

The feature film The wanderer, directed by Miguel Mejías and coproduced by Digital 104 and Volcano Films, will have a new screening at Muestra Internacional de Cine de Ensenada as part of the "Best of MICENS 2023" section. The screening session will take place on the festival's opening day, next Friday, September 13th in Baja California, México.

Yesterday, the Astorga Film Festival, held in the Spanish region of Castilla y León, had its closing ceremony, where some of the short films featured in the #CortosQuercus2023 catalogue were awarded. Vermouth by Nestor López has been awarded with the Best Short Film from Castilla y León Award. Likewise, Train to oblivion by Isabel Medarde has received the award for Best Documentary Short Film.

We get fantastic news from San Sebastián. Melody's murmur, the short film by Fabio Barber, is one of the six selected in the Cortometrajes Loterías section within the San Sebastian Film Festival, which will take place from September 20 to 28. This is a competitive section focused on short films with social themes.
The screening of the six works in competition will be on September 23, starting at 5:15 p.m. at Cines Trueba.

Ama, the short film by Claudia Chao, which is part of the #NavarraShortzinema catalogue, has won the Jury Prize at the China-EU Youth Film Festival, a festival held between China and Belgium, within the 'China-EU' category Light and Shadow Award'.

There will be screenings in Europe in October and in China in November.
