Guillén Buil’s short film The last day has been nominated for Best Student Short Film at the 2026 Fugaz Awards, which will take place today, June 22nd, in Madrid. Produced by the Instituto de Cine Canarias and starring Jacobo Santiago, the short film follows the last day in the life of Esteban, who will do everything he can to make sense of his impending death.

The film The Root, featured in the Navarra Shortzinema 2025 catalog, continues its unstoppable run. This time, you can see it at the Fuerteventura LGBTQ+ Film Festival, organized by the Altihay collective.
The screening of the short film, directed by Isa Sáez Pérez, will take place on June 23rd at the Fuerteventura Island Auditorium.
Far Away by Marine Discazeaux has been selected at the Ciudad Real Short Festival, within its parallel section.
The festival will take place from June 22 to 27 in Ciudad Real.
A Beach (#CantabriaenCorto2025), the short film by Juanqui Soto and Luis Paredes, has been selected to participate in the International Short Film Competition at the MIX Mexico Festival - Cinema, Sexual and Gender Diversity.
The festival will take place from June 18 to 28 in Mexico City.
In addition, Where are you?, by María Moreno Novoa, is participating in the Panorama section and The Root, by Isa Sáez Pérez, in the Experimental section – both of #NavarraShortzinema2025.
They have selected The Lily Show by Marcos Cristostomo (#Digital104FilmDistribution), Wounded Light by Abril Catalina Beascoechea (#CantabriaenCorto2025), and The boy with red ears by María Lucía Suárez Barbery (#NavarraShortzinema2025) to be part of the Young Audiovisual Encounter section of the Valencia International Film Festival – Cinema Jove.
The festival opens this Friday in Valencia, while the screening of the short films we are distributing will be on the 26th.
