Today, in our #TrailerFriday, we present the short film Brannia Ossaria by Miguel Sánchez González, featured in the #CortosQuercus2025 regional catalogue from Castilla y León. The film is a documentary about a historical event which is key to understand the origins of the Spanish region of Castile.

"1,200 years ago, five families crossed the Cantabrian Mountains south to settle a high mountain area of pastureland and bears. To this end, Count Munio Nuñez, on behalf of the Asturian King Alfonso II, granted these new settlers of the Palencia Mountains a series of privileges and freed them from certain obligations, leaving as evidence a pioneering document of great historical significance that would later be known as the Charter of Brañosera."

The start of the 29th edition of the Málaga Film Festival is around the corner. Next March 6th, the selected films will start screening. Among them, Instructions for staying by Caque Trueba, featured in the official section of short films. Tickets for the first block of short films are now available and can be purchased in the festival's portal. 

The sessions are on March 7th at 10pm at Cine Albéniz and March 8th at 5pm at Sala de Turismo y Deporte de Andalucía.

Six short films featured in our distribution catalogue have been selected to participate in the new edition of #CortoGijón - Festival de Cortometrajes de Gijón: in the documentary section, Loin by Marine Discazeaux and Just a matter of time by Carlos Martínez Pérez (#CantabriaEnCorto2025). Also, the festival opens a new section this year, the Official Section - Extensión Llanes, where we have Instructions for staying by Caque Trueba, Wounded light by Abril Catalina Beascoechea, A beach by Juanqui Soto and Luis Paredes and Only the dead remain by Alejandro Renedo, all of them featured in the Cantabria En Corto 2025 regional catalogue.

The short film Dear Adults, directed by Ugaitz Albisu, has been selected for the Positively Different Short Film Festival in Greece, a festival committed to a better world where "the personal becomes political and the political, personal."

Today marks the closing of the 2026 edition of the European Film Market, one of the most important international events for the global film industry, held in conjunction with the Berlinale, the Berlin International Film Festival.

We were there from last Thursday with our distribution catalog, represented by our colleague Nayra Rodríguez, meeting with festivals and other industry professionals, planting seeds that will bear fruit in the coming months...
