THE ROOT, awarded in Barcelona

We recently learned that the short film The Root, directed by Isa Sáez Pérez, received an honorable mention at the ALMA Awards during MECAL 2026 in Barcelona.

The jury praised the short film's "masterful use of archival footage to explore queer memory through an intergenerational dialogue that weaves together past and present in an intimate and sensitive story."
