In a corner of the forest, a boy plays and learns to whistle among the trees and parrots. He grows up. One day, he discovers fire and runs home to tell his mother. But seeing her frailty, his emotion fades, as if the air no longer has any flavor. Unbeknownst to him, illness looms over his home. Mom, in a weak voice, takes him by the hand and, in front of the fire, tells him about a bush that burns without being burned, that gives life instead of consuming. The boy, his soul anguished, curls up in his bed, convinced that he must find it, that bush in the nearby forest. But while he dreams of growing up, the fire ravages everything around him.
