THE WHEAT CURSE and MATCHES, newest titles in our catalogue

THE WHEAT CURSE and MATCHES, newest titles in our catalogue

Last week we welcomed both a new documentary and a fictional story to our catalogue, as you could have read in our last #Digital104 blog entry. Both movies bring us closer to what life is for people living in isolation. On one hand, in The Wheat Curse, by the directors Pablo and Álvaro Montes Sánchez, we take a peek at the hard reality of the saharwi refugee camps in Tinduf from a new perspective never explored before.
On the other hand, Matches by Carlos Doniz takes place during a regular, mundane day of an elderly couple who only have each other in March 2020 when Spain was living in confinement.

We wish both films the best of luck in this new journey!

#TrailerFriday THE WHEAT CURSE

Sometimes, when we discuss the living conditions of people living in refugee camps, we forget about certain difficulties that become nearly invisible. This serves as a starting point for Pablo Montes Sánchez and Álvaro Montes Sánchez, who direct the short film titled The wheat curse featured in today's #TrailerFriday. A story that takes us to the Algerian region of Tindouf, home to more than 170,000 Sahrawis. In a place of inhospitable conditions and scarcity, the Sahrawi population lives on dwindling humanitarian aid. Six percent of them face the added difficulty of coeliac disease.
