The first debate on Human Rights in History

The first debate on Human Rights in History

In the middle of the 16th century, and for the first time in the history of humanity, an empire questions where the rights of the winner end and where those of the loser begin. Bartolomé de las Casas and Ginés de Sepúlveda defend two antagonistic positions regarding the natural rights of Native Americans. Almost 500 years later, a group of experts analyzed what is considered the first debate on Human Rights in History.

This is the synopsis of THE VALLADOLID DEBATE, a short film by Juan Rodríguez-Briso belonging to the catalog of #CortosQuercus from Castilla y León, and which we distribute in #Digital104FilmDistribution.
